Our Founder

James Scott is a visionary in the world of technology and innovation, with a career that spans decades and reaches across the globe. His journey began in high school when he was accepted into an advanced STEM program, where his days were spent between academic study and hands-on robotics work. This experience sparked his passion for innovation and set the course for his future career in technology.

During his senior year, a pivotal encounter with a recruiter from SGS Thomson Microelectronics (now STMicroelectronics) opened doors to opportunities that would shape his future. Working with this global leader in aerospace and defense technology, Scott gained invaluable experience that propelled him into advisory roles with stakeholders in over 50 countries. His work with tech startups, research labs, and think tanks helped them expand internationally and make meaningful impacts in their respective fields.

Scott’s vision for the Center for AI & MedTech Innovation is rooted in his belief that advanced technology can solve some of the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges. Through the Center, he seeks to empower advocacy groups with the tools they need to influence policy, engage with regulators, and advance AI-driven healthcare innovations. His commitment to supporting advocacy groups stems from a deep understanding of the challenges they face in navigating complex regulatory environments and his desire to see them succeed without the burden of financial obstacles.

James Scott’s philanthropic efforts extend far beyond the Center. He has founded numerous institutes, think tanks, and initiatives, all focused on driving innovation and creating positive change. These include the Institute for Bioengineering and Data Science, the QuantumXcelerator, the James Scott Institute, and Resilience Projects. He is also behind the creation of the ASEAN Institute, the Envirotech Accelerator, and the Net Zero Accelerator.

Additionally, Scott supports humanitarian initiatives such as the Embassy Row Project, the Emancip8 Project, and the Artifakt Gallery. Through the Emancip8 Project, Scott ensures that all services provided by his institutes, NGOs, and coalitions are completely free of charge, supported through a unique grant and scholarship award process. His commitment to maintaining the strategic focus of these initiatives ensures that they remain mission-centric and free from external influence, creating impactful change in the areas of education, advocacy, and innovation.
